Offered from a private collection: this old advertising sign of Javaanse Jongens 'Tembaco' 3/4 Zware Shag. Obtained during my college days in Amsterdam, from a now closed tobacco store. The signs were distributed to tobacco shops in the early 1960s. Minor signs of wear give the sign a nice aged look, vintage lovers will appreciate this! Dimensions: 33 x 20 cm Javaanse Jongens is a brand name of Theodorus Niemeijer BV. In the past, Indonesia was a colony of the Netherlands. In addition to various herbs and spices tobacco was also an important product in Dutch East Indies, which was the main island of Java.
