In good condition with minor traces of usage
A large two door armoire with mirrored doors, possible to transform into a blbliothèque, stamped Jeanselme. The doors flanked by fluted pilasters, above a long drawer and on short tapering legs. Reverse of doors veneered in bird's-eye maple, shelved interior. The armoire is mounted with gilt bronze swags, beading and vegetative mounts.
Valuated in 2000 (certificate available).

Charles Jeanselme was a known ébeniste of the time - he was born in a family of ébenistes that worked from 1824 to the end of the 19th century. The family acquired the lower part of the Grand Maison Jacob in 1847 form where they provided the Parisian well to do families with furniture in the Louis XVI and Napoleon III styles.
